At the beginning of the 50s Piero Piatti starts to produce cases for jewellery and handmade made-to-measure complements, in a small workshop in the heart of Milan.
With the opening of the “Piatti 1953” shop and the expansion of the workshop, the company expanded its business, gaining importance at a national level, especially thanks to the entry into the company of his daughter Graziella, in the early seventies, who developed the potential and took care of marketing.
In 2009 the activity was moved to a new laboratory with a warehouse, equipped with state-of-the-art equipment. The new name chosen by the company, “Private Trunks”, reflects the desire to adapt to the current needs of an increasingly international market and to broaden its horizons.
Private Trunks starts the processing of new types of particularly refined products for demanding customers, such as leather wardrobe trunks, for furnishing or travel, watch winders for personalized walk-in closets or accessory boxes with deer antler handles.
The main interlocutors of Private Trunks are still the large furniture companies, especially in Northern Italy, which require made-to-measure furnishing accessories, such as trays for wardrobes, bottoms for drawers and boxes in leather or fabric, and also jewellers, who require customised couvettes for jewellery and watches, padded chests of drawers for safes or made-to-measure luxury cases.
